Winner of Kodinhaltija Awards 2024

A Historic Moment: The First Kodinhaltia Award Presented to Martat

The new Kodinhaltia Award in the field of interior design, established by designer Tapio Anttila, was presented at the Habitare fair on September 11, 2024. The jury unanimously selected Martat as the first recipients of the award. Marianne Heikkilä, the organization’s secretary general, accepted the award on their behalf.

What made awarding Martat especially joyful at this time was that they are celebrating their 125th anniversary. Moreover, Martat’s values perfectly reflected the principles emphasized by the award.

“Marttaliitto is a civic organization providing household advisory services. We work to ensure that all people, in every kind of home, experience well-being. Our values are the joy of working together, sustainable choices, and openness. Our motto is: From a good everyday life to a better world,” Martat explain the philosophy behind their activities.

The jury was unanimous about the award recipient, and the reasoning behind the choice was easy to summarize. "The Martat organization has influenced Finnish everyday life and home care for 125 years. This achievement is incredible. Even more impressive to us is that Martat has maintained its relevance and necessity over time. For any brand, it is crucial to remain relevant, and Martat succeeds in this better year after year. Martat promotes and teaches essential life knowledge and skills in today's world, which not only create a better and more sustainable home life but also a more sustainable society,” read the jury’s justification.
